Direct Assistance Application Timeline
Directed Energy will accept proposals throughout the year on a case by case basis.
The Direct Assistance application forms are available on the Directed Energy website. Applicants will be of two types: (1) Project Assistance or (2) Business Plan Assistance.

Applicants are encouraged to submit an informal two page "letter of intent to apply" which will describe the applicants company and scope of work contemplated. The purpose of this step is to confirm an applicant's eligibility for this program prior to preparation of a full application and, as needed, provide additional guidance. Click here for a LOI form.
Letters of intent (LOI) must be electronically submitted to directedenergy@buffalo.edu. A receipt will be returned to you within 48 business hours and an initial assessment will be conducted within ten business days. Applicants will receive an email indicating intent to award or final rejection within 30 business days. Contracts will be negotiated with funding to begin as soon as possible. Directed Energy reserves the right to suggest alterations to an applicant's statement of work and will do so in full cooperation with the applicant.
